They left our School few month ago. Félix Jeanne and Kenzo Naito (Master 2015) have created Weromantique.com: a website dedicated to the organization of weekend for lovers.
EDHEC Alumni: Can you explain in a few words what WeRomantique is and how do you get the idea?
Félix Jeanne: WeRomantique is a website that enables French lovers to organize romantic weekend breaks in France and in Europe. On WeRomantique they can book charming hotels and discover good places (bars, restaurants, city walks…)
The idea came while I was trying to organize a weekend getaway with my girlfriend who went back from Canada. I spent hours on the Internet searching for a cool romantic getaway. And found nothing. Some websites only offered booking solutions, but I had to choose between thousand standardized hotels. And the remaining websites were the utmost sentimental cliché, with a terrible UX.
I told Kenzo about that. We performed a market study and decided to launch what lovers needed: a website dedicated to their romantic weekend breaks.
EA: What first conclusions can you draw?
FJ: It is quite hard to get a full picture in a short period of time. We must say we have learnt a lot. As far as the website is concerned feedbacks are really positive. Now the challenge is to increase brand awareness in a competitive but large market.
EA: Have you used EDHEC ALUMNI network in your project?
FJ: During our master we have been advised by ALUMNI who provided us with relevant comments. The experience they have acquired in their entrepreneurial adventures inspired us a lot.
EA: What would be your advice to students or graduated who would like to start a company?
FJ: Launching a company is really demanding and difficult. I think it is mandatory that cofounders have complementary profiles at the beginning, in order to split tasks efficiently. Moreover you may want to consider people’s thoughts with caution, either compliments or critics.
EA: What are WeRomantique’s next steps?
FJ: First improve our ranking on Search Engine results pages. Then expand our offer by adding new destinations and new hotels.
EA: What do you expect from the EDHEC network?
FJ: We invite every EDHEC to visit our website. But people we know from EDHEC are quite young and are not our priority target. However we may use this network for recruitment purposes.
