EMI Music UK and Ireland is part of The EMI Group. The UK company is home to Capitol Music UK, comprising EMI Records and Parlophone labels, and Virgin Music UK, comprising Virgin Records and Innocent labels. EMI Catalogue Marketing is responsible for the re-releases of music catalogue, compilations and other commercial opportunities. The International team work with the labels to maximise our artists and releases overseas. EMI shared services support the record labels in the specific areas including sales and new media, finance, IT, legal, HR, facilities and operations. Our vision is to be the best music company in changing times. The department Based at the Brook Green offices EMI is home to many artists who are household names in the UK and internationally. The diversity of the talent ranges from Robbie Williams, Starsailor and Iron Maiden to Beth Orton, The Doves and the Positiva dance label, and many more. Within the label there are creative and commercial A&R, Marketing, Video, Press and Promotions departments who work closely together to ensure all single and album releases are planned and delivered successfully. The Position We currently have a vacancy for a Marketing Assistant based at 43 Brook Green, London W6 7EF. The position is reporting to the Senior Product Managers. This role will: Provide administrative support to the EMI Records Marketing Team, including typing and preparing correspondence, sending faxes, organising couriers, diary management and co-ordinating travel itineraries. Be fully involved support role, working closely with the Marketing Team to log work/projects in progress and monitor deadlines. Proactively use existing procedures and systems to enhance departmental workflow and implementing new procedures where appropriate. Involve extensive telephone liaison with artists, managers, press and promotions contacts, suppliers and general enquiries in to the Marketing Department. Organise marketing tools for distribution. Co-ordinate Point of Sale and artwork materials. Proof-read and check copy. The Person The successful candidate should have proven organisational skills and demonstrate attention to detail. A self-starter with drive, initiative and enthusiasm, you should have the ability to communicate effectively and have the confidence and diplomacy to deal with colleagues, artists and managers at all levels. You should be a team player and be able to prioritise your workload in conjunction with a demanding release schedule, working under pressure and to deadlines. An understanding of the function of a marketing environment, and the day to day pressures facing a busy department are key. Knowledge of a press environment would also be an advantage. You should possess sound PC skills should include excellent Word and Outlook, a working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint and familiarity with the Internet. Overall, you will be passionate about a broad range of music genres, have a good sense of humour and be able to keep pace with a diverse and dynamic marketing environment.
