Cosm is a holistic brand that helps customers care for their skin and well-being on a daily basis. It was created by Stéphanie Le Fèvre (EDHEC Grande Ecole 2018).

How did your business come about?

I’ve always been passionate about cosmetics. Since I first arrived at EDHEC, I have always known that I wanted to create my own business someday.

I am stressed by nature and that has a lot of repercussions, causing pain throughout the body and skin problems such as acne when I was younger and eczema in recent years. Once I decided I no longer wanted to suffer from these things, I poured all my energy into making myself better: adaptogenic plants were my miracle remedy, and now I can’t do without them. These are plants and mushrooms recognised for their anti-stress properties and their capacity to return the body and mind to a state of profound well-being.

That’s how I came up with the idea for Cosm, a holistic brand that cares not only for your skin but for your inner equilibrium, for the two are undeniably linked.

I realised I wasn’t the only one concerned: we are living in a time of anxiety, and the level of stress in society is constantly on the rise. I’m convinced that it is essential to provide access to well-being, and yet it was impossible in France to find a simple and effective routine, so I created one!

I have rolled out this recipe for well-being in two formats: a cure in powder form which the user drinks on a daily basis, and face masks containing the same ingredients for synergetic action.

What is your initial assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure? What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?

Entrepreneurship is at once an incredible opportunity, since every day I am happy to be doing what I do, and a real challenge because you have no choice but to get back up after each new setback (of which there are many)!

One thing I have learned, and I think this is indispensable for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, is the importance of believing in yourself and working on that confidence every day as it is our primary source of motivation.

You hold a Masters degree from EDHEC, how has your education helped you on your journey as an entrepreneur? What has this degree given you?

Of all the things that EDHEC gave me, open-mindedness and the capacity to always find solutions in the face of various problems are two key values that I find most useful today in both my professional and personal lives.

You joined the EDHEC entrepreneurs programme at Station F: what does/will this initiative offer you? tell us how being part of STATION F is an opportunity?

Joining the program was a fantastic opportunity for which I am grateful every day. First of all, it gives me an incredibly stimulating work environment with very enriching events and meetings. But it is also a chance to get advice and feedback from well-intentioned and trustworthy individuals who are there to challenge and guide me as needed.

What are your expectations from the EDHEC community?

I still have a lot to learn and many challenges await me for which I am probably unprepared. The network includes many experts with invaluable know-how about specific problems, and I am very lucky to be able to talk to graduates as well as those on the incubation initiative at Station F in which I participate.

What’s next for your business?

The Cosm crowdfunding campaign is currently being prepared and will soon be up and running. After that, the rollout phase will have to be perfectly executed, combined with an effective growth strategy so I can establish my brand in the routines of active women in need of a return to greater equilibrium in their daily lives.
