Nominee for the Entrepreneur of the Year : Marjorie MATHIEU and Yann DUCAROUGE (GE 1991)
It began with two EDHEC students: Yann Ducarouge (responsible for sales and key accounts at Henkel) and Marjorie Mathieu (postgraduate course at the New-York Fashion Institute, head of the licences department at Daniel Hechter in Paris).
At first, they produced for others. If the leading fashion houses had accessorised Luxury, the textile brands were right behind them. Our two heroes therefore used the existing retail networks to make their mark.
Original and spontaneous, the whole Lollipops style is based on Marjorie’s vivid imagination. Yann manages the sales side, production and logistics.
Determined to raise the brand’s profile, they gradually organised a trade name sales network.
In order to up their growth, the Rand group became a majority shareholder at Lollipops in 2007. Marjorie Mathieu and Yann Ducarouge are still shareholders and manage the company. Today, Lollipops has 100 shops worldwide and sells its creations through 1200 multi-brand stores. The Lollipops group recorded sales turnover of 50 million euros in 2012, with subsidiaries in Italy, Spain, the UK and China.
Marjorie and I have tons of energy, but EDHEC gave us Discernment. ENERGY and DISCERNMENT are the keys to entrepreneurship.
