Nicole Damaggio (EDHEC Grande École 1978), creator of PR’AISANCE CONSEIL and founding chairwoman of HONOR INTERNATIONAL, Club de talents atypiques, is a coach whose clients have unusual profiles. She also offers consultancy services on corporate strategy.

Nicole has extensive experience and is highly committed to ethical management and Asperger’s syndrome (similar to high-functioning autism and affects social interactions, communication and the expression of emotions). She now specialises in interpersonal communication and the integration of invisible differences.

WHO IS NICOLE DAMAGGIO?

With a background in company management and consultancy in recruitment, management and communication, she has a flair for detecting talent and offers alternative ways to be better, communicate better and perform better.

Her experience: corporate strategy and communication.

Her specialisation: interpersonal communication and the integration of invisible differences.

Her commitment: Asperger’s syndrome.

She created PR’AISANCE CONSEIL, which focuses on personal or professional, individual or collective support, resolutely developing initiative and confidence – key factors of success. She also founded HONOR INTERNATIONAL, Club de talents atypiques, a not-for-profit association that focuses on the acceptance of difference.

She is the author of Une épée dans la brume, Syndrome d’Asperger et espoir, together with Anneclaire DAMAGGIO, (Anne Carrière, 2011), and Le Carnet, Manager la différence c’est…(Coll. Honor International, 2014), and she plans, organises and runs events and conferences in an international environment.

WHAT DRIVES HER ?

Focusing on those with Asperger’s syndrome, Nicole set about discovering and deciphering an unknown world, a world of extraordinary people who find it hard to have a voice and are excluded from society. Her battle resonated like a matter of life or death for society as she strived to help them gain autonomy and freedom. She promoted Asperger’s syndrome, raising awareness among the wider public about the intelligence and creativity of these often visionary people. She conceptualised her experience and began to share it to pursue her work on the integration of difference in a socio-professional context. And to make a change in France.

EDHEC ALUMNI : HOW HAS YOUR EDHEC EXPERIENCE HELPED YOU ACHIEVE THIS PROJECT ?

Nicole Damaggio :  I drew on the fruits of my international career and my management training at EDHEC in a way that was inventive so I could create something new, something ground-breaking: tailored support for people with atypical profiles and job coaching for businesses. It’s about learning to manage difference.

EA: DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR OTHERS FROM EDHEC INTERESTED IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

ND:  Be convinced about what you want to do, especially when it concerns others. Learn to adapt. Don’t ever abandon your objectives.

LISTEN, learn to listen, know how to listen: the key to any situation is filtering out the elements that will help you develop solutions for every obstacle you encounter.

Take inspiration from your own experience and those of others without prejudice. Aim high, aim true.

EA: WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BUSINESS? WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY OF EDHEC GRADUATES?

ND: France is far behind when it comes to integrating people with autistic profiles or Asperger’s syndrome. The EDHEC community is home to a vast range of professional and cultural profiles, and I’m counting on them to spread the word about this charitable gala, which includes a show in support of Asperger’s syndrome, a condition that remains little understood and represents a vital challenge for society. A society becomes stronger as it develops its capacity to reshape its codes and adapt to diversity and difference. This concerns us all. Thank you all.
