News from the EDHEC Emergency Fund

School

-

10.20.2020

The health crisis that is shaking our country has led the EDHEC community to mobilise to offer exceptional and necessary aid to students in difficulty.

Thanks to its Foundation and the spontaneous generosity of its donors, EDHEC set up an emergency fund in April 2020, with the aim of alleviating the various financial problems encountered by some students. For each donation made, the school contributed the same amount, up to a total of €200,000.

This fund is still active: a scholarship commission is held once a month to help French and international students facing difficulties due to the health crisis:

  • Difficult family situation (loss of activity of a parent / death of a parent)
  • Loss of income from an internship or student job
  • Student staying abroad with additional living expenses not provided for

Key figures to date:

  • 160 requests
  • 8 Covid Commission disposals
  • 103 students supported

This mobilisation is very encouraging for the future as it shows current students the involvement and solidarity of EDHEC graduates, parents and friends. This action is in line with the school's transformation project through the 2025 strategic plan "Impact Future Generations", which seeks to promote a high-impact social component within EDHEC.

THANKS TO ALL DONORS!

Chris Dylain Kalisa, EDHEC BBA online, has benefited from the emergency fund and thanks you...

"I joined EDHEC in order to have access to world-class education and, due to the pandemic, I lost my job and was placed in a situation where I was not sure whether I should continue my studies. Thanks to the emergency fund, I was able to benefit from a scholarship that allows me to pursue my course. I am grateful to EDHEC and the EDHEC Foundation for setting up this initiative to enable students to become the leaders of tomorrow."
