Job Description: Merrill Lynch International Structured Product Research is a strong team; an exciting, thriving environment, passionate about being the best & driven by achieving the best results. We are seeking a Junior ABS/MBS (Asset/Mortgage Backed Securities) Analyst. Working closely with your team in the publication of research on the whole European ABS market, this junior role will develop as you refine your skills & gain responsibility. Duties include; Data gathering on deals & pricing in the ABS market; Researching market developments, events, issues & themes; Assisting your team in sourcing & interpreting accurate information; Analysis of transactions in the European ABS sector; Learning/understanding securitisation technology across a broad range of asset classes; Over time, becoming a sector analyst, developing investment opinions based upon analysis & presenting your research. Candidate Specification: Educated to at least graduate level in Maths, Economics, Finance or a similar discipline you have strong quantitative skills & superb knowledge of Excel. You are currently working within financial services, and have been for at least 12 months preferably within ratings agency, investment bank or fund manager. With excellent written & oral communication skills, you are ideally fluent in a second European language. Naturally you are enthusiastic about the credit markets, thriving on developing & exploring your own ideas. Focussed in your career, you are passionate about achieving excellence, accuracy & perfection in all that you do. A strong team player, you are eager to learn & take on new challenges. Resourcefulness & initiative to source information from a broad range of sources to support analysis are a must.
