MBAs Without Borders Haiti Opportunities MBAs Without Borders, a Division of CDC Development Solutions, is pleased to announce the need for MBA advisors for potential credit & risk analysis, small business investment, and SME finance projects based in Haiti beginning later this summer. Projects are not expected to begin until Summer 2010, will last 3-6 months and will primarily revolve around assisting the recapitalization of Haiti’s fractured and broken small business sector. Scope of Work The consultant will be based in various cities in Haiti and will work directly with a development bank seeking to recapitalize Haitian small businesses. The work will primarily involve analyzing credit applications submitted by Haitian small businesses and giving investment recommendations to the bank on the assessment of each business & application. The work will also involve communicating and coordinating with CDC Development Solutions headquarters staff, the development bank’s management, investors and Haitian beneficiaries. The overall objective will be to further develop the bank’s ability to distribute capital to Haitian small businesses in the country, including but not limited to: • Identify and assess risk of potential investees for the bank in the region, conduct due-diligence assessments and present findings to the bank’s management; • Analyze credit & finance applications and put forth recommendations for investment to the bank for each Haitian small business applicant; • Develop, design and implement technical assistance plans for investee companies and organizations; • Work closely with potential investee, and investee companies to formulate business plans, and provide other general business advice if appropriate; • Present reports to the bank’s management for implementing investments and technical assistance plans, as well as supervision reports for existing investments.

Skills Required for the Position • MBA graduates with focus on a Finance, Credit, Investments or Loan underwriting preferred; • Understanding of, and passion for the field of social entrepreneurship and grassroots development issues; • Credit or banking experience is a must; • Relevant experience, especially in financial analysis, assessing risk and SME financing is highly desirable; • Strong analytical skills; • Advanced MS Excel skills; • Excellent oral and written communication skills; • International working experience preferred; • Fluency in French/Haitian Creole, especially the ability to read and write in French; • Ability to work in a physically and mentally challenging environment;Extraordinary patience and the ability to laugh;
