Juliette Lèbre and Oriane Motte (EDHEC 2016): founders of Ellipse Agency

Interviews

07.04.2019

Juliette Lèbre and Oriane Motte met as students at EDHEC. Together they now run Ellipse Agency, a digital marketing firm specialised in acquisitions.

tell us about your project. how did it come about?

Even before there was any kind of project, the Juliette and Oriane adventure started in Paris. We both had an appetite for travel, curiosity and the kind of momentum that makes every cafe seem to open up new possibilities. The wind carried Oriane to Italy and Juliette to Germany. Similar experiences and doubts and the same kind of approach to life made it inevitable that we would team up. One with digital skills and the other in communication, it took just two months for us to start off on our adventure. We pushed back the boundaries of collaboration by working over the phone; who else can say as much?

Now at Ellipse we are digital natives, without borders and ever-connected! We specialise in digital acquisitions and offer project management services from strategy all the way to implementation: SEA, SEO, social ads, emailing and content.

what drives your motivation in this ENTREPRENEURIAL adventure?

The possibility of creating something every day and without barriers is what drives us. Working as a duo enables us to emulate each other’s work, complement each other on a daily basis and push back our limits. But our entrepreneurial adventure is also about simplicity, sharing a laugh and having ambitions that extend beyond our business plan, which can sometimes become the entrepreneur’s obsession.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT EDHEC OR WITH THE NETWORK OF GRADUATES HELPED YOU ACHIEVE THIS PROJECT?

We thank EDHEC for enabling us to meet each other! We form a highly complementary duo, and that’s what drives us forward. When our agency was starting out, the EDHEC brand was a source of confidence for many prospective clients who later signed with us. Lastly, knowing that many others from EDHEC have also chosen the path of entrepreneurship helped both of us to believe that you really can achieve anything.

What is your initial assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure? Do you have any advice for others from edhec interested in becoming entrepreneurs?

Anyone can be an entrepreneur. Our advice is this: dream – dare – test (a nod to one of our clients, coach and multi-jobber, Hélène Picot)! You’ve got nothing to lose, on the contrary. The key to our success is work and motivation!

What’s next for your business? What are your expectations from the community of edhec graduates?

We would like to develop our digital marketing agency: there are currently three of us and we would like to recruit a fourth as early as September (if you’re interested, get in touch with us at oriane@ellipse-agency.com). We are also always looking out for new and challenging projects and encounters.
