Julien Delicourt and Maxime Desbonnet (EDHEC BBA 2012) present Work Around the World !
- Can you explain briefly how your company came about (activities, team, origins and project originality)?
As students, we needed and wanted to do an internship abroad to enhance our Resume and above all to experience. The most difficult part was finding a good internship and then settling the administrative part. After we graduated, we went to work abroad and there we met the same problems!
WAW gives to students the opportunity to find a relevant internship abroad and leave in the best conditions. We ensure a real follow-up, which we lacked. We are accompanied by experts of the expatriation (doctors, coaches) to assist our students in case of difficulties.
We have positioned ourselves on the networks we know and appreciate. These are tourism, the beverage industry and catering.
- What is your initial assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure?
Entreprendre is very rewarding. We were confronted, as any young start-up, with the difficulties of the creation and the financing needs. But believing in his project allows "to push" doors. You have to be patient, but the result is that today we are much freer and we are committed to finding jobs for students as quickly as possible
Avez-vous pu profiter à un moment ou un autre du réseau EDHEC BBA Alumni ?
Yes. We have sent an email to some former Alumni who are in the business areas that concern us and we have had a lot of feedback from them. We asked them if they could help us or get in touch with the people in charge in their companies and they gave us their support. We would like to thank them.
We are always looking for partners with whom we collaborate.
In addition, we had the pleasure of presenting WAW in front of EDHEC Alumnis at the alumni meeting in October. We were able to interact with them and benefit from their experience.
- What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?
Be patient but keep fighting. Believe in your project, work hard and federate your family, friends, colleagues to the project. Your entourage allows you to keep a stability and reassures you in moments of doubts.
- What’s next for your company?
We are continuing our launching phase and we want to communicate further in as many schools as possible around the world. In addition, we would like to offer even more positions to students.
- What are your expectations from the community of EDHEC graduates (fundraising, looking for staff, partners, advice, etc.)?
Yes, we are looking for partners especially in our 3 sectors of predilection that are tourism (hotel), catering and beverage (producers ...) industries. We are looking for open positions for students. We have in our database students from all countries. For our partners, our goal is to find the right profile at the right time, for free and without commitment.

Our offices are currently at the EDHEC incubator. It would take a long time to enumerate all what the EYE brings us but they are of real support. They are listening and very responsive. We would also like to thank them for their commitment to help us growing.
