Julie Chapon (Yuka) nominated 1st woman to watch out for in the French Tech industry

With Yuka and its 8 million registered users, this entrepreneur has developed one of the most successful French start-ups targeting a broad client base. Julie Chapon (EDHEC Master 2011), winner of the 2018 EDHEC Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year award, tops the StartHer association’s list of women to watch out for in 2019.

It’s too late to turn back. When she left a comfortable job in consultancy to take the plunge into entrepreneurship, Julie Chapon never imagined she would be so successful. Yuka, an application she developed together with two brothers, François and Benoît Martin, is changing the way consumers buy their products. With 8 million registered users and 3.8 million active users each month, Yuka scans some 2 million units every day. In the world of French consumer apps, it’s a big hit! Now she can’t imagine doing anything else: “I went 18 months without pay, but I never doubted it for a second. I’ve always been careful about what I eat, and this project fills me with motivation!”
