Faith and Business Model Evening: talk by Hubert de Torcy (HEC) about his career and the launch of a free Catholic monthly paper

FASCINATING, INSTRUCTIVE & RELAXED!

Three words that neatly sum up on 10th June organized by EDHEC Alumni Christian Club:

- Fascinating: the background story to an ambitious and viable business model. Hubert de Torcy explained the context and background to the launch of his new free Catholic monthly, l'1visible. The newspaper is based on the ‘free’ (but costly!) publishing concept, but uses the many willing helpers in the different parishes to reduce distribution costs.

- Instructive: the experience of a man who, after HEC and 10 years of a promising career at PSA, radically changed tack by joining Emmanuel publications and then becoming a Christian entrepreneur with l'1visible.

- Relaxed: an eclectic association comprising around thirty Edhec alumni from different Class years (from 1979 to 2011) and various backgrounds (bankers, monk, consultants, students...), who enjoyed a great moment of sharing reactions generated by the talk, and the past experience and projects of one and all, not to mention the excellent buffet!
