I recently had the opportunity to meet up with Eileen Qiu, the Regional HR director Asia Pacific, for Euler Hermes, the world’s leading provider of trade-related credit insurance solutions, which is backed by Allianz, one of the leading financial services providers worldwide. Euler Hermes is a long standing EDHEC business club member, and a company that participates at our finance fair without fail, every year. However, I found out that that does not mean that they only have positions for FE students; they also have commercial/distribution, sales and marketing roles in addition to needs within their risk team.
Over the last several years, Euler Hermes, has been strengthening their Asian based activities. With this growth and their unique position in the market, their need for top talent has followed suit, thus their creation of a “regional management trainee program.” This program is a one year rolling program focused on the China, Hong Kong and ASEAN (from Singapore) markets. After the program, the successful trainees will be placed in key positions. You can find out more, by checking out their web-page. After reading more about the firm and the program, if this seems interesting, Eileen will be giving an exclusive virtual presentation, for selected FE and BM students, on the firm and the new program, on March 27th.
The market that Euler Hermes does business in looks especially interesting right now in Asia, Mr. Fabrice Desnos the Regional CEO of Euler Hermes Asia Pacific said he “expects intra-regional trade to increase by 80% in the next 10 years. And as companies move from traditional letters of credit to open account credit terms, he expects the market for credit insurance products to grow...” - See more about what Fabrice said on this exciting market sector here.
It is thrilling to see our EDHEC business partners expanding globally, with interesting opportunities to go with it. However, be prepared, because these firms are putting in place rigorous hiring practices that go with the career boosting graduate programs, like those that we see in Europe. For example, within their new management trainee program, Euler Hermes, in particular, hires on four key dimensions; learning agility, results orientation, adaptability and people agility, and has an extensive interviewing process to assess the fit of a candidate vis a vis these dimensions. Understanding what criterion by which firms such as Euler Hermes are making hiring decisions and preparing for this and the unique recruiting process you will face, is a must in order to succeed to get a spot in these career accelerating programs.
Rosemary Goater was speaking to Eileen Qiu in Hong Kong – Eileen invites you to join her virtual presentation to find out more about Euler Hermes’ exciting management trainee program on March 27th.
