EDHEC Business School’s new Executive Campus in London, located in the heart of the City, was inaugurated on 6 April 2011 by Bernard Fournier, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Olivier Oger, Dean, and Noël Amenc, Director of the EDHEC-Risk Institute. The ceremony also marked the opening of the EDHEC-Risk Institute-Europe, Europe’s premier finance research centre, in the presence of leading executives from financial institutions.
EDHEC Business School has been present in London since 1998. It has focused on strengthening its links with corporate partners and alumni in the UK capital, and gradually developed a sizeable executive education programme specialised in finance. All in all, EDHEC has hosted over 5,000 City professionals in its research seminars and conferences since 2003.
As of today, more than 700 EDHEC Business School alumni work in close to 500 companies in the UK and the School co-operates with numerous partner universities including the London School of Economics and the University of Warwick.
"This Executive Campus illustrates EDHEC Business School's international development strategy. We have cemented our international ambitions by opening new campuses in major global financial centres, and our sharp focus on businesses' training and research needs", underlined Olivier Oger, Dean of EDHEC Business School.
The new EDHEC Executive Campus, located at 10 Fleet Place, Ludgate, will house the following activities right from 2010-2011:
• EDHEC-Risk Institute-Europe, an extension of the EDHEC-Risk Institute-research centre based in Nice, which will develop new research programmes.
• Executive education: training seminars for the European financial industry organised in partnership with the CFA Institute. In this area, EDHEC has been organising Europe's biggest alternative investment management conference - EDHEC Alternative Investment Days - in London since 2004.
• PhD in Finance (executive and residential track)
• An MSc in Risk and Investment Management designed for professionals and students seeking to specialise in finance and which offers participants the chance to combine periods of study with their professional activities in the City of London (part-time or alternate work/study formats).
"EDHEC-Risk Institute-Europe will serve as a platform for the continued generation and dissemination of academic insights into the key investment management issues of practical relevance to European investors and financial institutions", underlined Noël Amenc during his speech.
The same development strategy is being applied to the Singapore Campus recently inaugurated on 21 January 2011. This approach reflects EDHEC's belief that the EDHEC for Business strategy only makes sense if applied internationally.
Our international ambitions are increasingly cemented by important projects geared to expanding EDHEC's interactions with the corporations that drive the world economy.
