Over the last eighteen years, EDHEC Business School has developed considerable expertise in training future managers to do business in Europe.
To enable international graduate students to benefit from our programme's special insight on how business in done in Europe, an intensive four-week course has been developed and will take place on both Lille and Nice Campus from May 17 to June 12, 2010. This combination of coursework, conferences, travel and company visits will allow visiting students to acquire a sound understanding of the key factors influencing how business is done in Europe.
Participants to the Strategies for Europe course will attend two modules (3-credits each) covering important topics about the European business scene, will become acquainted with several regions of France, will visit leading companies in Southern and Northern France and meet with their management.
Participants will begin their summer course in Lille in the North of France. Lille is the heart land of the French mail order and mass retailing industries and is located 1 hour from Paris and 80 from London by train. Lille was designated as the European Culture Capital in 2004.
Participants will then complete their course in sunny Nice, on the French Riviera. The Cote d'Azur is very well known both for its tourism and its technology industry.
Last year, we welcomed students from the US, India and Europe who attended sessions at the European Commission in Brussels and visited well-known companies such as: Castorama, Arc-International crystal manufacturing company, and Decathlon sporting goods while staying in Lille. Students also had the opportunity to visit Paris and Brussels.
On Nice campus, participants had cultural and touristic visits to famous places like Cannes and Monaco and visited specialised companies in the South of France such as IBM, Mane and Amadeus, the European Travel Computer Reservation System.
