On the evening of January 6th, just after the impressive Forum EDHEC recruitment fair (122 firms present), a full-house of international MBA and MSC participants and EDHEC Alumni stayed on to attend the Hiring International Talent & Managing Global Careers roundtable and networking event organised by Sandra Richez, Head of EDHEC’s Global MBA Career Services and Christelle Caucheteux, Director of EDHEC Alumni. Taking place on EDHEC's new Paris Campus, the event was graced by Maureen Laurens, Southern Europe and MEA Recruiter at Google, Sapna Rema Hari, Corporate HR Manager at Sodexo, Karl Waheed, International Lawyer, Monique Valcour, EDHEC Professor of Management, and Adrien Smith (EDHEC MBA '09) of Bristol Myers Squibb. The panel was moderated by Sandra Richez and Markus Gstettner, 2012 MBA participant and former HR Manager from Austria.
The panelists all touched upon key trends observed on hiring and retaining international profiles, the legal hurdles involved in such recruitment activities, as well as tips for International MBAs and experienced profiles looking to work abroad. Insights shared by panel members with participants of the Global MBA and Master's program play a pivotal role in keeping candidates aware of hiring trends in today's challenging global markets. The audience enjoyed hearing personal career stories from panelists with diverse experience in the US, India, the Middle East, the UK and France. The networking cocktail event following the discussion allowed the participants to meet with the panel members in person for inspiring conversations, and network with HR representatives like Phoebe CHANG, Human Resources Development Manager from Louis Vuitton. All-in-all, it was a great opportunity for MBA participants and Alumni to network with the business community and gain valuable insights on the challenges and rewards of global careers.
