CCDU EDHEC, abbreviation of Chinese Career Development Union of EDHEC Business School, is a student association dedicated to serving all Chinese alumni worldwide and those who have interest in China. Founded in 2014, CCDU focused on providing career related services including tailored consultation, experience-sharing seminar and afterwork activities. Our mission is to consolidate Alumni resources, and build a commercial bridge between China and France.

We believe that China + France = Chance.

Career Sharing Seminar is a traditional sharing activity organized by CCDU. In order to provide students with more useful career information to help them make better future career planning, CCDU invites some outstanding alumni to share their work experience and provide advices on career planning.

On 16th November, CCDU invited five alumni from different industries including consulting, asset management, entrepreneurship, digital marketing and so on. They shared some career experience and gave practical advice about the future professional choices, career planning and also provided many useful suggestions to the students.

At the beginning of this event, Jie Yang, the president of CCDU, introduced the alumni and the whole activity agenda.

The Career Sharing Seminar includes three parts: session I, a coffee break and session II.

During the sharing session Ⅰ, Angeline LI (EDHEC 2011), Head of Social Media in Lacoste, shared her understanding of the current digital marketing and the experience of how to collaborate with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds and behavioral pattern. She also suggested the students to improve their language level and the ability of making PowerPoint slides during school.

Then James JI (EDHEC 2015), the co-founder and CEO Sikana China, suggested the students do not be afraid to express own ideas and try to live a different way. At the same time, you should identify and make good use of the knowledge and tools provided by the school.

After the sharing session Ⅰ, there was a coffee break. The participants had a chance to communication with the guests and ask the questions they were interested in.

In the sharing session Ⅱ, the special guest MR.X – Edison, who is the country manager of Huawei in France, gave his opinion about how to find our passion and where to work. He also emphasized the importance of the big platform and the balance between work and life.

Finally, Léo GUO (EDHEC 2018), who is responsible for Transaction Services Analyst Ernst & Young, and Océane WU, who worked at BNP Paribas Asset Management Investment analyst, introduced the job division in detail for the financial sector. They also encouraged that we should have the active learning and motivation to improve ourselves.

After sharing, participants joined an after-dinner in Lille. During the after-dinner session, the students had a deeper communication with the speakers in a relaxing ambiance and gained more helpful information.

The seminar enriched students with more professional knowledge about the different industries and sectors. They learned more opportunities for future career paths.

After this activity, we did a satisfaction survey. Nearly 90% percent of the students who participated in the event are in M1 , the others are in M2 and BBA. They all showed a greast interest in this kind of activity. 85% of students indicated that this Career Sharing Seminar was productive and would recommend this event to their friends.

Here are some feedbacks from the participants:
“The industry coverage is quite wide and the presentation is not boring at all; the working experience is helpful and informative.”
“ The deepest feeling is that the we can no longer completely treat ourselves as a student and must learn to grasp the key points.”
“The content shared by them is very practical and benefited me a lot. I hope that CCDU can organize more such events to communicate more with them.”
