I am Ashwani Kumar, EDHEC Global MBA 2019 batch. I am a passionate thinker in pursuit of leveraging new age technology and business acumen for creating a better impact in the society. Prior to studying at EDHEC, I finished my under-graduate degree from the prestigious Indian Institute Technology, India(BHU). I have built a career as a ‘strategy guy’ – planning & executing strategies for in-house teams as well as my clients. In recent years, I have set-up initiatives in fields of sustainability and mental wellness.

The origin of Mindvit

The business concept around MindVit originated during one of the lectures at EDHEC. We were asked to self-reflect on a psychometric analysis report generated through a questionnaire. Building upon the idea during my days at EDHEC, I prepared myself for the entrepreneurial venture. Once comfortable, I submitted a B-Plan elaborating on my problem statement. Upon returning to India, I formed a team of Engineers/Interns and continued with the initiative.

We at MindVit, are now working on three major areas relating to mental health and wellness

  1. Creating a positivity based ecosystem amidst the rampant negativity that is sometimes very detrimental to our mental wellness
  2. Providing a unique and robust medium to sensitize people about their mental well-being by proactively breaking the stigma/stereotype that exists around the topic and providing easy to use self-help tool kits for daily practice and wellness check
  3. Becoming the largest accumulator and one stop solution for all kinds of resources related to mental wellness (product and service offerings)

What is your first assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure?

The corporate world especially Human Resources have been actively seeking guidance in form of mental wellness / employee assistance programs. Peer pressure has impacted even the younger age groups. Today even educational institutions are in a dire need of such programs for their students. I have received favorable response from these sections.

Have you benefited from the EDHEC alumni network during this process?

My network at EDHEC especially my seniors and classmates have guided me with the right approach and helped me to build a commanding pitch for this idea.

What advice can you give to new entrepreneurs?

Business will follow, solving a real world problem is the key! If you find peace and satisfaction in easing the problems faced by society, you will never be demotivated. Hardships, hard work and failures are part n parcel of a learning experience.

What are the next stages for MindVit?

Right now we are in the middle of launching the Beta version of our MindVit Application. We want to create a large pool of resources, product and services centered around mental wellness as a platform. It will be great if EDHEC Alumni from across regions register for Beta testing.

Do you have expectations for the EDHEC alumni community?

I want to scale up quickly and launch the next phases of the platform. I am also seeking funds and hoping our esteemed alumni community can point me in the right direction.
