Noël Amenc: Academic criticises Populist Solutions

On June 21st, Noël Amenc, Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School was interviewed by the Financial Times on why it is unfair to blame the financial crisis on hedge funds and private equity firms.

Professor Amenc explained that he is not against regulating alternative investment managers but he thinks regulators are barking up the wrong tree with their proposals by taking a populist approach rather than trying to find real solutions to the issues of investor protection and systemic risk.
