Dear Alumni,

I hope you are doing well and that you had a nice summer despite the uncertainty of the current health situation.  Here at EDHEC, the start of the academic year means a return to campus and to in-person learning for all our students, a truly wonderful development.

I am pleased to share the two most recent rankings for our Master in Management (Grande Ecole) programme with you. In France, the SIGEM ranking, which is based on the choices of preparatory class students, carries a lot of weight. This summer, SIGEM confirmed the excellent progress made by EDHEC in the French market, progress that has also been spotlighted in numerous rankings published by major French media outlets. For the first time this year, the SIGEM ranking showed that preparatory class students ranked EDHEC 4th among their choices, just after the three Paris-based schools. Overall, 80% of preparatory class students chose EDHEC over EM Lyon (i.e. 325 candidates, versus 112 in 2019). These results reinforce a very positive trend observed over the last few years.

At the international level, the Masters in Management (MiM) ranking published by the Financial Times (FT) on September 13 marks a new level of recognition for the EDHEC Master in Management programme: for the first time, EDHEC joined ranks with the world’s top 10 MiMs.  EDHEC’s programme made spectacular progress, climbing 7 places from 16th in 2020 to 9th place this year. This FT ranking positions EDHEC not just alongside the three Paris-based schools, but also among world-leading institutions such as the University of St Gallen, Imperial College Business School, and ESMT Berlin. These last two schools are among EDHEC’s partners in the Future of Management Education (FOME) alliance, an innovative digital learning platform. Following a survey of graduates, EDHEC’s careers service was ranked #1 in France. On the “overall satisfaction” criterion, the School obtained a score of 9.20 out of 10, a performance that recognises the high quality of EDHEC’s teaching and student services, its rich and rewarding student experience, and the multi-cultural environment found on all its campuses.

Although our strategy is not guided by rankings alone, they represent a major factor in raising the School’s profile and strengthening our reputation. We are all working to achieve the best results, with each of us contributing in our own way: professors conducting excellent research and delivering outstanding teaching, and career counsellors delivering valuable advice and support to young jobseekers.

As alumni, you play an active role in developing the EDHEC brand and your support is a key factor in the School’s success. Your engagement at our side is a strong marker and one which ensures our ability to create a dynamic and original community that will transform our society and the business world. I offer you my very sincere thanks for your ongoing support. As I’m sure you know, it’s by working together that we embody EDHEC’s Make an impact! motto.

Best regards,
Emmanuel Métais, Dean, EDHEC Business School
