Dear Alumni,

2020 was a challenging year, mostly characterised by the impact of covid-19 on the employment market due to lockdowns, furlough schemes, bans on travel, and economic uncertainty. Despite this, the placement of the Financial Economics Track Class of 2020 was very satisfactory and in line with previous years.

53% landed a job before leaving school and 94% chose a job in line with their career objectives. Sustainable finance and other societal challenges are more and more important to our students, and 31% of graduates reported that their jobs involved CSR-related missions. Some graduates took longer than in previous years to secure employment but 57% landed a job through the EDHEC Career Centre and the overall EDHEC community.

The Class of 2020 is placed in 28 countries and 56% of the placements are outside of France. The international mobility, understood as the percentage of graduates working outside their home countries, is 49% overall, 60% if we consider international graduates only, and 41% for French graduates. The main locations include France, UK, China, Luxembourg, and Germany. As to be expected, 80% of graduates work in finance functions (including: 39% corporate finance and private equity, 17% buyside, 14% audit and transaction services, and 12% sellside) and 12% work in consulting. The top 3 industries are banking (57%), audit (13%) and consulting (8%). Finally, 19% of the Class chose to join a Graduate Programme or a VIE.

We would be very interested in hearing your thoughts and your feedback so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Happy summer!
