The Alumni Career Centre has drawn up a 6-step plan to help you find the job of your dreams.
You use the same approach when you’re looking for a job as when you launch a service offer on the market, in other words, you take a marketing approach, which involves offering your skills to a specific market, in this case the job market.
The six steps include:
- A market survey: the sectors, functions, organisations and locations
- Developing the offer: assessing your skills and motivation
- Communicating the offer: writing your application
- Promoting the offer: the recruitment process
- Finalising: signing the employment contract
- Managing your career
