The job market was a lot firmer in 2011 than the European debt crisis might have suggested.
2011 EDHEC graduates found the employment situation attractive, even though job market conditions turned down slightly at the end of the year.
The process of finding employment went smoothly, especially for the numerous students who signed their first employment contract while they were still in the final year of their studies. Those students still in end-of-study internships at the end of December have experienced a tougher market since December 2011.
An international playing field
There was further confirmation of the increasingly internationalised job market for new EDHEC graduates.
More and more young EDHEC MSc graduates are joining international graduate programmes or France’s VIE international internship scheme.
In terms of the continents, China’s pulling power has made Asia the leading destination after Europe and pushed the Americas back to third place. The UK remains the leading international destination in Europe, with Switzerland still a comfortable second.
