1st investment for our GENERATIONS powered by EDHEC Business School fund in partnership with Ring Capital!
3,7m €. This is the amount recently raised by HyLight (YC S23) to develop the 1st sustainable, low-carbon and efficient alternative for aerial inspection of all types of infrastructure.
In October 2023, EDHEC launched its impact fund "GENERATIONS Powered by EDHEC" in partnership with Ring Capital, one of the private equity firms most committed to supporting impact start-ups. Your EDHEC Alumni Association, the EDHEC Foundation and many EDHEC graduates have already subscribed to the fund in order to support the emergence of responsible start-ups.
GENERATIONS powered by EDHEC is proud today to announce its first participation in a fundraising round, that of HyLight (supported by the Berkeley accelerator), alongside renowned investors including Marc Tarpenning, co-founder of Tesla and Abhishek Tripathi, former director of SpaceX launches, which shows the potential of this start-up.
About HyLight
Currently, 80% of pipeline inspections are carried out by helicopter. These inspections are compulsory and therefore generate significant costs as well as considerable greenhouse gas emissions to maintain the infrastructure.
Faced with this constant challenge, HyLight is offering the first sustainable and efficient alternative with a model of steerable drones powered by hydrogen.
Their recent fund-raising will enable them to accelerate the roll-out of their solution on an industrial scale, recruit experts to meet R&D needs and expand their network of partners. HyLight is already working on prototypes with two major infrastructure players: Enedis, which manages France's power line network, and Snam, Italy's leading gas transmission company.
