"APM Club's First Edition: A Successful Introduction to Product Management Webinar"
02.03.2023
The Aspiring Product Managers Club recently held a successful virtual event, "Intro to Product Management," with guest speaker Aditi Mishra, a Product Marketing Manager at LinkedIn. The event was a huge success, with an engaged audience eager to learn about careers in product management.
Aditi discussed the field of product management and its importance in creating the right product for the market. She stressed the role of PMs in working with cross-functional teams and the varying responsibilities across companies and teams.
Aditi then shared her knowledge of the skills and experience required to succeed in the role. She provided valuable insights on preparing for product management interviews and offered tips for success, including staying up-to-date with industry trends and understanding the company's product strategy.
We would like to thank Aditi Mishra for sharing her experience and insights with the audience. We are looking forward to host our next event in the 3rd week of February, details will be out soon.

Here are some resources shared by Aditi Mishra:
1. Intro to Python Programming - As a PM it's highly unlikely that you'll code (even as a TPM). However, the more you know about technology, the easier it'll be to understand and work with your Eng teams. Python is an 'easier' language to learn, and can also be a good segway into Machine Learning if you are interested. https://lnkd.in/gCzbNEXy
2. Product Design (by Google) - every PM needs to learn how Products are created through ideation, and validation, as well as how to identify metrics to determine the success. This course offers a good introduction to Google design sprints: https://lnkd.in/g3PQxNyw
3. Agile Development - While not the top skill to know, having an idea of how Agile works is important for developing products and this course has everything you need to learn about it for free: https://lnkd.in/gV-6EbE
4. SQL for Data Analysis - No list of free courses is complete without some data analysis/extraction course. This will teach you the basics of SQL and how to extract data - your day-to-day as a PM:https://lnkd.in/gDs4eKZc
5. Data Storytelling - Knowing how to extract data is important. Knowing what to do with the data is, probably, more important in PM. This course gives a good introduction to how to tell stories with it and also talks about the ethics of reporting data: https://lnkd.in/gQnkujpc
