The Art of Encounter: What Makes an Encounter Memorable

Following the tremendous success of the first-ever Whats4U London Mixer in 2024, join the 2025 edition, an inspiring evening exploring “The Art of Encounter: What Makes an Encounter Memorable?”

Expect an engaging talk and a series of interactive, hands-on activities to explore how meaningful connections are created and nurtured. The evening blends playful and thought-provoking moments designed to spark genuine conversations across alumni communities.

And of course, it wouldn’t be the London Mixer without plenty of time to mingle and enjoy a convivial evening over food and drinks.


EDHEC Alumni UK-led workshop: Active Listening

"Are you listening or are you listening?" 

Have you ever wondered whether you are actually a good listener? How would you know?Is your ability to listen as important as your ability to speak? If this is tickling your curiosity, be ready to be surprised. Come and join us for this interactive workshop on the art of Active Listening and reconnect with this priceless skill that is available to us all.

The workshop will be led by:

  • Marileen Koppenberg (EDHEC 1997), Certified Coach, Official EDHEC Alumni UK Coach and Head of the EDHEC Alumni UK Career Committee

Marileen graduated from EDHEC Grande Ecole in Lille in 1997. She is an ICF accredited executive coach, a consultant in communications and has had a lengthy career in finance. Prior to coaching, Marileen spent 12 years in investment management as a Credit research analyst at JP Morgan Asset Management. She began her career in investment banking at JP Morgan in Debt Capital Markets. She now works with a range of clients across all levels of seniority to help them establish their professional presence, increase their confidence, and navigate challenging transitions. Marileen has been an active member of the EDHEC UK Alumni Board since 2022 with a specific focus on career progression and development. Marileen is also a trustee with City Pay It Forward, a UK charity that focuses on promoting and delivering financial literacy in primary and secondary schools. She holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, USA. Marileen is Dutch, grew up in France and started her career in London which became her home.

  • Jacques Balducci, Certified Professional Coach & International Career Advisor at EDHEC Alumni.

Jacques is a Certified Professional Coach and International Career Advisor at EDHEC Alumni, supporting graduates through career transitions, leadership development, and organisational challenges. He brings over 25 years of international experience in media and audience measurement, having served as International Commercial Director at Médiamétrie and previously held senior roles at Euronews and TF1. Alongside his work at EDHEC, Jacques runs his own coaching practice, helping executives and teams enhance performance and navigate change.
