Job description

We've got fantastic opportunities in Commercial (Buying and Merchandising) and Marketing. The China Graduate Programme is a 12-month Fast-Track scheme. Once selected, you'll join us in China during September, then spend approximately seven months on a structured development programme in the UK. This will include time in our UK stores, where it all started and where it all still happens. You'll then develop skills in your chosen business area, before making a permanent move to China to complete your programme. This programme will give you the specialist technical skills you need to excel in your chosen area, not to mention the Tesco leadership skills you'll need to succeed. In the UK, you'll also learn about the Tesco group processes and the Tesco Way' of doing things.

Person requirements

The programme will be challenging and stretching and we are looking for strong, driven individuals who will contribute to the business from day one. You'll need to show that you can work effectively in a team, but that you are also able to take responsibility and use your initiative. You'll have lots of opportunities to demonstrate what you can do and what you're made of. To drive our business growth internationally and make your mark, you'll be: Qualified or expecting at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any discipline Fluent in both English and Mandarin Interested in, and with an understanding of, Retail Driven and determined to learn and deliver for the customer in a challenging environment Confident in your analytical skills Able to influence others and have excellent interpersonal skills Able to legally work in China and be willing to relocate to China You'll be mobile according to the needs of the business (although you will initially be based in one location) Ideally, you'll also have: A degree from a UK University Work experience in a customer-facing role (retail experience would be a real advantage!)

Location
