On September 29, 2025, in Paris, EDHEC Business School announced the launch of a dual engineering–management degree in partnership with the École Navale. Open this year to students of the Grande École Program, the curriculum combines academic excellence, scientific rigor, and military training.
EDHEC Business School and the École Navale have announced the launch of a dual engineering–management degree available this year to students of the Grande École Programme. Located in Lanvéoc-Poulmic (Finistère) under the supervision of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the École Navale has been training French Navy officers for over 200 years. This is the institution’s first dual degree with a leading business school. This hybrid program — maritime, scientific, and human — will offer students opportunities to enter the defense sector, an industry experiencing strong recruitment dynamics, especially for engineers, in the current geopolitical context.
Meeting the Growing Interest in Geopolitics and Defense Issues
Students in the Grande École Program can apply to this dual curriculum starting from their Pre-Master year. They will then continue their studies at the École Navale for two years, followed by professional experience in a company and an international mobility period. They will complete their studies with a final year at EDHEC. Upon graduation, they will hold both the EDHEC Grande École Program degree and the engineering degree from the École Navale.
“This strategic partnership gives our students access to a top-level dual degree with a leading military and engineering school,” explains Emmanuel Métais, Dean of EDHEC Business School. “It responds to the growing interest among our students in geopolitics and defense issues, which are particularly significant in today’s international context.”
This curriculum also builds on a framework agreement between EDHEC and the École Navale. Its ambition is to pave the way for strategic collaborations between the two institutions, such as developing research projects (management, defense, and maritime security), designing training programs, and organizing events.
